Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store who told me to use a $12 paint additive for my garage floor epoxy. I thought it was a waste of money but my finish is WAY smoother.

Honestly, I've done a few garage floors and never used that stuff. Just mix slow and pour thin. The whole additive thing feels like a way for them to sell you more junk. My floors turned out fine, no orange peel. People just rush the job and blame the product.

Yeah, that "waste of money" feeling is real. I read a forum post where a guy skipped the anti-foam agent in his epoxy. His whole floor was covered in tiny bubbles that hardened. Looked like orange peel. He had to grind it all off and start over. That twelve bucks saves you a huge headache.

That orange peel texture sounds like a nightmare. Do you know if he mixed it too fast or if it was just the missing agent? I've heard temperature can play a role in bubbling too.
