TIL a comment about my lighting changed my whole garage setup
My buddy came over to help with a project and said my overhead lights were making everything look flat and washed out. He pointed out that the shadows were hiding all the detail on my workbench. I swapped one of the fluorescents for a cheap LED work light at an angle, and it made a huge difference in seeing what I'm actually doing. Has anyone else found a simple lighting change that improved your workspace?

Flip your main light to bounce off the ceiling instead of pointing straight down, it scatters the light way better. I did that with an old halogen work light and it killed the harsh shadows without needing to buy anything new. The reflection makes the whole room feel bigger too.

Agree with you BOTH on this @paul_mason12 and @kelly.robin, I did the SAME thing with a cheap clamp light from the hardware store and it made my whole living room look way better. My walls are white so the light just bounces around everywhere and softens up the room like crazy. No more squinting or weird shadows on my face when I'm reading. Seriously underrated trick for anyone who hates harsh lighting.
