Finally got a decent look at that weird green mineral in my sample

Three years ago I picked up a rock near Sedona that had this green fleck I could never ID with my basic kit. Last week I borrowed a loupe from a friend and saw it's actually tiny, perfect epidote crystals in a vein. Anyone know a good way to photograph something that small?

Check out a macro lens clip for your phone, they're cheap and work shockingly well for tiny stuff like that. @daniel_knight is right to ask about the loupe strength because that matters for the photo setup too. If you were using a 10x, stacking a few phone pictures might get it, but a 20x loupe needs a steadier hand or a real mount. The lighting is the real trick, you need a bright but diffused light to make those tiny epidote crystals pop without harsh glare. Honestly, just play with angles and take a hundred shots, a couple will turn out great.

Oh nice, tiny epidote crystals sound cool. What kind of loupe did you borrow, like a 10x or something stronger?
