The day a 10-foot curved glass panel showed up with the wrong radius
Got a call for a high-end shower enclosure in a new build over in Westlake. The spec sheet clearly said a 48-inch radius, but the crate from the supplier had a 36-inch panel inside. Had to call the architect, delay the tile guys by two days, and eat the cost of a temp cover. Ever had a supplier mistake throw your whole schedule off like that?

Oh man, my whole career is a supplier mistake.

Feel that. Got my current job because the hiring manager misread my resume. Thought I knew databases. I knew how to fix a database error message once. Been faking it for three years now.

You know what, I actually used to roll my eyes at people who talked about "faking it till you make it." I thought it was just an excuse for lazy people who didnt want to learn the job properly. But after watching my friend Sarah get hired as a project manager for a company she had zero experience in, and then watching her CRUSH it for two years straight, I had to change my mind completely. She just learned everything on the fly and honestly did a better job than the guy who trained her. The truth is, most hiring managers are just as clueless as the rest of us, and half the time they pick the person who sounds confident not the one who actually knows the stuff. Your three years of faking databases is basically on-the-job training, and thats how most people in tech seem to operate anyway.
