Vent: My old mood board was a total mess compared to my new one

I was working on a logo for a friend's coffee shop and my first mood board was just a cluttered Pinterest folder, full of random stuff I liked. Last week, I forced myself to use Milanote and stuck to a strict color palette and only five font styles. The difference was crazy, the final design came together in half the time because I wasn't distracted. Has anyone else found that a tight, focused mood board makes the whole process way smoother?

Is a mood board really that big of a deal? It's just a collection of pictures, lol. I get that being organized helps, but calling your old one a "total mess" seems a bit much. Sometimes a messy folder of random ideas is where the good stuff comes from. I've made plenty of decent stuff without a strict system, it just depends on how your brain works.

A messy folder can definitely be the best kind of folder sometimes.

Totally! My best work always comes from a chaotic pile of random files.
