Overheard a couple at a cafe in Boise talking about a ghost town near Craters of the Moon
They said the road to Bayhorse, Idaho is rough but the old mill is still standing and totally empty. Has anyone actually been out there and know if you need a 4x4?

Read a blog post about that road last year. They said a high clearance vehicle is pretty much required after any rain. The old mill is cool but getting there is the real adventure.

You said it, the real adventure. I took my old SUV out there after a light drizzle last fall. The ruts were so deep my passenger door scraped the high center. Had to back down a quarter mile to find a turn around. That blog post wasn't kidding at all.

Backing down a quarter mile sounds like a nightmare. Singh.jessica was right about needing high clearance, but that's next level. I'd have been swearing the whole way.
