Just realized my cheap glove choice was tearing up my hands every weld
Switched to heavy-duty leather, and now my hands aren't raw at the end of the day.

Glad you found something that works, but I've had issues with leather gloves too. They can get stiff and crack over time, especially in heat. I switched to a mix of kevlar and cotton layers instead. It gives better control and lasts longer under sparks. The key is having the right protection without losing movement. Sometimes the extra weight of leather just isn't worth it.

@the_blair's point about leather cracking hit home, my uncle had similar trouble with his fishing waders. They'd go from flexible to brittle after storage, no matter how he cleaned them. Sometimes the gear made for the job isn't as tough as it claims to be.
