Funny how I used to meal prep every Sunday like clockwork

Back in 2019 I would spend four hours every Sunday cooking up five days of lunches and dinners. Everything went into those glass containers and I had it all planned out by the hour. Then my work schedule changed to random shifts and that routine just fell apart. Now I grab whatever is quick from the deli counter at Kroger or eat a protein bar at my desk. I swear I used to save $50 a week doing it myself but now I just throw cash at convenience. Has anyone else had a system they loved that just got wrecked by a job change?

Wait, didn't you just say you grab stuff from the deli counter now? That's still faster than four hours of meal prep but it's not really the same as throwing cash at convenience (I mean, standing in line at Kroger deli is its own kind of hassle). I get how one schedule change can just wreck a whole system though, my sister had this whole weekend baking routine that went out the window when she got put on overnight shifts.

Yeah I switched to one big cook on my day off and froze single portions. Worked around the random hours.
