I used to strip 12/2 with my knife before I got a pair of Knipex strippers

Remember my old knife, the one I swore by? It's now a dedicated box opener in my garage. I was so stubborn about it, like a guy trying to dig a post hole with a spoon. My foreman finally just shook his head and tossed me his strippers mid-job. Took about three clean pulls on some 12/2 to realize I'd been making my life way harder for no good reason.

My hangar debate: replacing every seal on engine teardown or just the bad ones?

Can we just agree both sides have a point here?

Unpopular opinion: Hand tools beat power tools for delicate aircraft work

Oh the "repeatable results every single time" line, classic. Yeah, because my wrist has never been repeatable before. Sometimes I think we get so into tech solving everything that we forget a simple screwdriver and some focus actually works. It's not about being fast, it's about not having to order a new part because your fancy driver decided to yeet a screw head into orbit. You just get a better feel for when something's right.

Feeling the squeeze to rush carpentry jobs and it's not right

Wow, hearing about that lawsuit actually changed my mind.

TIL my coworker tried to pay me in vintage comic books for helping with his taxes

Look at it this way, cash just loses value sitting in your wallet or a basic bank account. Those comics could actually be worth more over time if he knows what he has. Plenty of people trade stuff for services and it works out fine, maybe not for milk and bread but for other things. Sometimes a weird trade is way more memorable and useful than another twenty bucks you'll just spend on gas. Why are we so stuck on only using paper money for everything anyway.
