Warning: I dropped $80 on a board game insert that was more trouble than it's worth

@anna_singh's friend was right, those things are a total scam.

My brother told me to wrap my ribs in foil after 3 hours and I'm still mad about it

Ever try wrapping it in foil instead of paper? I find it holds moisture way better for that final push. Gets the bark just right without drying out the meat.

Question about the push for all-digital manuals in the hangar

My shop in Tulsa still has the paper binders for every airframe we service. The company tried to take them away last year to go fully digital. We told them they could pry them from our cold, greasy hands. That frozen tablet situation is exactly why. Tech fails, paper doesn't. It's not a backup, it's the primary system that actually works.

I just saw a bookbinder in Seattle using a kitchen pasta roller to flatten signatures

Yeah I used a cheap hand crank pasta roller for a few projects. It does give you a really crisp fold line, but I stopped because it felt like it was crushing the paper fibers. For thinner paper it was fine, but anything with a bit of weight started to show stress marks along the crease after a few years. Now I just use a bone folder and a lot of patience, the old way.

The time I used a heat gun on a seized seatpost and it actually worked

Yeah, that pop is so satisfying. I had an old truck where the lug nuts were basically welded on with rust. First time I broke one free, the sound was like a gunshot. Felt like I won a small battle.
