inI finally think masking tape is a waste for most painting jobs.
Oh man, @annas33, I feel that so much. My first tries looked like a toddler got hold of the brush. The shakiness is real, just like the_james said. It honestly took a solid year of doing little practice lines every single day before I stopped cringing at my own work. What finally helped me was just relaxing my grip and breathing out slowly while making the stroke. How about you, do you paint or draw much at all?

inRant: I miss when BBQ tips came with a handshake, not a hashtag.
Yeah it's like we traded real mentors for endless videos. You can't ask a YouTube tutorial why your bark isn't setting right, you just rewind and guess. Something gets lost when there's no one there to actually look at your meat and give a nod.

inPSA: Following a camera review's advice on manual settings fixed my blurry photos.
Yikes, @piperf40, that's a brutal result. I always figured those settings are there because the engineers know how the hardware handles heat in the real world. Turns out theory and practice can really clash.
