I was totally wrong about those $30 shears from the beauty supply store.

For years I stuck with my expensive professional pair, thinking anything cheaper would ruin a cut. My apprentice brought in a set of 'Mizu' shears she got on sale, and I let her use them on a basic trim last Tuesday. The glide and the edge were shockingly good. I ended up borrowing them for a men's scissor-over-comb cut and the control was perfect. Has anyone else found a budget tool that completely changed their mind?

My street's drainage fix showed me why night shifts aren't always smart

They've been digging up pipes on my block after dark to avoid traffic. Everyone says night work is better for busy areas. But the crew next door messed up a trench depth twice because of poor light. I saw it happen last Thursday when they hit a water line. We need to stop pushing for overnight jobs just for convenience.

Trying a new stacking method really cleaned up my Milky Way shots

I take multiple short exposures instead of one long one. Then I blend them together to cut down on noise and keep the stars sharp.
