My grandma's sourdough starter finally came alive after weeks
I've been trying to revive my grandma's old sourdough starter from her notes, and it just started bubbling today. It sat in my kitchen for over three weeks with daily feedings and nothing happening. I almost gave up, but then this morning it had that sweet, yeasty smell she always described. The key was keeping it in a warmer spot near the fridge, I guess. It's a small win, but it feels good to have a piece of her kitchen back. Now I can finally attempt her crusty bread recipe this weekend.
