I thought asking 'dumb' questions was a bad move at work
Always kept quiet in meetings to not look stupid. Then a new manager said 'the only dumb question is the one you don't ask' and actually meant it. Has asking a simple question ever saved you from a big mistake?

Asking a simple question once stopped me from sending a report with wrong data.

Honestly, my pride has saved me from asking those questions and then sent me straight into disaster. I once spent a whole afternoon on a chart because I didn't want to look dumb by clarifying one thing. The cleanup was way more embarrassing.
