Spent a whole afternoon comparing filler spreaders from two different brands

Last month I picked up a cheap set of plastic spreaders from Harbor Freight to try on a dent repair. They just didnt flex right and left these weird ridges I had to sand out later. Got a set of the red dura-block ones for like 12 bucks more and holy cow the difference is night and day. Anyone else notice how much the spreader material affects your final finish?

Bought some cheap plastic ones once and ended up flinging filler across my garage wall.

Oh man, that's rough. My buddy once tried to patch a hole in his drywall with a super cheap spreader from the dollar store. It bent halfway through and he ended up slapping a gob of mud right on his jeans. Had to wear a jacket around his waist at work for a whole week. @jake_dixon, I feel your pain on that one, those flimsy tools are a trap.
