Hot take: My trusty 20-year-old KitchenAid mixer finally gave out mid-brioche dough.
The motor just smoked and died last Tuesday, right as I was adding the last of the butter. Anyone have a good fix, or is it time to finally upgrade?

Mid-brioche dough" is a pretty dramatic way for a mixer to retire.
