Rant: I had to pick between a recipe's bake time and my oven's temperature
The recipe said 25 minutes at 350, but my oven runs hot so I went with 20 minutes instead. I checked at 15 and the edges were already burning, so I pulled it out early. Has anyone else had a recipe time be totally wrong for their oven?

My old oven was a total menace. It had a mind of its own, I swear. Baking anything was a full on gamble.

Yeah, I always thought people were just making excuses for bad baking. Then I moved into a place with an ancient oven. The temperature dial was a complete liar, and one side would burn everything. I had to buy an oven thermometer and rotate pans constantly. It absolutely makes you appreciate a normal, predictable appliance.
