Had a client ask for a 'reverse mohawk' and it went sideways

A guy came in yesterday and insisted I shave a clean strip down the middle of his head, leaving the sides long, which he called a 'reverse mohawk'. I used my Wahl Detailer, but the guard slipped and I ended up with a stripe about an inch and a half wide instead of a clean line. What's the weirdest cut request you've ever gotten that just didn't work out?

Oh man, that sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen! I had a lady ask for "layers" but she meant these super chunky, disconnected pieces that just stuck out. I learned to always do a test snip on a small section first when the request sounds off. Did the guy at least see the funny side of it?

Ugh, test snips are a lifesaver... I had a client bring in a picture of "texture" once and it was just a photo of burlap. We had to have a long talk about hair versus actual fabric.
