Had to pick between finishing 'The Bear' season 3 or starting 'Shogun' this weekend

I had exactly one free weekend and two shows everyone is talking about. I could either finish the last four episodes of 'The Bear' season 3, which I was already deep into, or start the new 'Shogun' series from the beginning. I went with 'Shogun' because I wanted a totally new world to get lost in, and the first episode hooked me right away with its look and feel. It was a great choice for a fresh binge, but now I'm behind on all the 'Bear' finale talk. Has anyone else faced a choice like this between finishing a current show or diving into a new one? How do you pick?

You said you wanted a new world to get lost in, I totally get that. I once dropped a show halfway through because a friend begged me to start a new anime with them, and I never went back to finish the first one.

Yeah that "never went back" part hits hard. My watchlist is basically a graveyard of shows I got pulled away from by the next shiny thing. It's like once you break that immersion bubble, it's almost impossible to get it back, even if you liked the show. The new thing just has all the momentum.
