My $40 streaming stick upgrade was a total game changer
I was using the built in apps on my old smart TV for years, and it was so slow. Shows would take forever to load, and the picture would sometimes freeze. I finally bought a basic streaming stick for about $40, and it made a huge difference. Everything is so much faster now, and I can actually find new shows to watch without getting frustrated. The interface is smoother, and it feels like I got a new TV without spending a lot. I can't believe I put up with the old lag for so long. Has anyone else had a good experience with a simple upgrade like this?

I always thought it was the TV itself, but a cheap stick totally fixed it for me too.

Wait, hold on. That's not quite the same thing. @marywells replaced a core part that was actually broken. A streaming stick doesn't fix a slow TV, it just bypasses the TV's bad built-in software entirely. You're adding a whole new brain to it. It's a good fix, but it's more of a workaround than repairing the original problem.

Oh man, @drewjenkins, that reminds me of my old laptop that took forever to start up. I was ready to buy a whole new computer, which I really couldn't afford. My brother told me to just swap the old hard drive for a cheap solid state drive. I was sure it was a lost cause, but I tried it anyway. The thing boots up in seconds now, it's like a new machine. Sometimes the fix is way simpler and cheaper than you think.
