Tried to watch 'Dark' without a family tree diagram and got totally lost

I started the German show 'Dark' on Netflix last weekend thinking it was just a cool time travel mystery. By episode 3, I had to pause and Google character names because I couldn't tell who was related to who across three different time periods. I spent a solid 45 minutes drawing my own chart on a notepad just to keep up with the plot. Has anyone else needed a literal map to finish a show?

Found myself using three different colored pens to track bloodlines, and I still mixed up the two Jonas guys. My diagram looked like a conspiracy theorist's wall by the end of season two.

My buddy tried to chart the family tree for that show Dark. @the_derek, his final draft looked like a red string board for a time travel murder. He just gave up and called it abstract art.
