Appreciation post: the old guy who told me to always preheat my welding rod oven for 2 hours before a big job

I ignored him for six months until I cracked a header on a rush job in Baton Rouge and had to grind out 8 hours of rework, now I set a timer on my phone every single morning.

Bet the old timer was just trying to save your bacon. 8 hours of rework sounds like a rough way to learn the lesson though.
