Got burned at the Maplewood library book swap - now I check everything twice
Last month at the Maplewood community center book swap, I grabbed what looked like a pristine first edition of a classic novel. When I got home and opened it, all the discussion questions in the back were already filled out in pen with someone's hot takes. Now I flip through every single page before I commit to a swap, especially if the cover looks too clean.

wait hold on so were the hot takes at least funny or was it just some random person's boring opinions? like i gotta know if there was any entertainment value in discovering you basically bought a used book with someone's english homework graded in it. cuz if it was just basic takes like "the main character is relatable" then thats rough buddy but if they were roasting the author in the margins that might actually be a win.
