Shoutout to the person who argued we should ban celebrity memoirs forever

Last meeting, someone said these books are just cash grabs with no real substance. I agree, because most of them feel like ghostwritten PR stunts. We spent twenty minutes debating if a famous name makes a book worth our time. Let's stick to actual literature next month, please.

Who decides what counts as literature?

But my friend bought a big star's memoir last year, sure it would change his view. He told me it was just empty stories about parties and paid advice. That ties into what @blake_martinez18 said on who picks what is literature. What makes a book worth reading if it feels like a ad? He wasted money and time on something with no real feel. Why do we let famous names trick us into buying their shallow books?

Honestly, my own memoir would just be a list of bad decisions and what I had for lunch. The bar is pretty low, but some of these books still manage to trip over it. Maybe we should just save our cash.
