Got burned by a $40 fog machine at my daughter's Halloween party

I picked up one of those cheap fog machines from a party store in Akron for a backyard bash, and it worked great for about 15 minutes before it started spitting out oily goo all over the grass. Ended up having to refund tickets and grab a nicer unit ($120) from a rental place last minute. Anyone else deal with cheap party gear that totally let you down?

Wait, you actually had to refund tickets because a fog machine went bad? That is crazy. I would have been so mad if I had to turn away people after they already paid to come. Oily goo on the grass sounds like a nightmare too, did it stain everything? I bet that cheap machine was probably meant for a tiny bedroom, not a whole backyard party with a bunch of kids running around.

Oh man, that oily goo probably wrecked their grass for weeks. I bet that little machine was meant for a tiny dorm room, not a big outdoor party with kids slipping everywhere.
