Spent $30 on a cheap desk lamp of Amazon and it flickered out in 2 weeks
I thought I was being smart grabbing a $30 LED desk lamp with good ratings on Amazon. Two weeks in, it started flickering so bad I got a headache after an hour of work. Tried a different outlet, still flickered, so it was definitely the lamp itself. The return window was still open but I had to pay $8 to ship it back. Now I wish I just spent $60 on something from a real store where I could see it first. Anyone else get burned by cheap lighting that looked fine in the reviews?

Yeah that's the annoying part. Had the same thing happen with a $35 lamp from some random brand. Wound up buying a simple metal architect lamp from a local office supply store for $50. Bulky but it just works. No flickering, no weird LED driver noise. Sometimes the boring stuff is the way to go.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean a headache from a flickering light for an hour sounds annoying but also kind of dramatic. Like you could have just turned the lamp off and used a different light source for a day. And $8 to ship it back is basically what you'd pay in gas to drive to a store and return something half the time. Plus the $60 lamp from a store might also flicker if you get a bad batch. I've had expensive lamps from real stores crap out too.
