Warning: People keep trusting those 'Verified Purchase' tags way too much
I was looking at reviews for a specific brand of compression socks, and I saw a bunch of glowing 5-star ones marked 'Verified Purchase' that all used weirdly similar wording. I checked the reviewer profiles and they were all brand new accounts with no other reviews. It's super easy for companies to buy their own product and have an employee leave a fake 'verified' review. I've learned to only trust reviews from accounts with a long history and varied purchases. Has anyone else caught a fake verified review lately?
