A client's custom island almost tipped over because we didn't check the floor slope
The install was in a 1920s Portland house and the floor dropped a full inch over 8 feet. We had to add adjustable levelers to the base frame right there on site. Anyone else run into this with old homes?

Holy cow, a full inch drop? That's wild even for an old house. I'd be sweating trying to fix that on the spot.

Man, that reminds me of my buddy's place. He found a two-inch slope in his living room floor last year. Turned out an old porch support had just turned to dust under the house. He spent a whole weekend digging out the crawl space to fix it.

Wait, did he have to put in a whole new support beam or just patch it up? Honestly, that sounds like a nightmare weekend. HugoPrice, a full inch would freak me out too, but two inches is next level. Makes you wonder what else is hiding down there in the dark.
