Can we talk about how people review sleeping pads wrong?

I keep seeing reviews where they test pads on their living room floor for one night and call it good. You gotta take that thing out on actual dirt in 40 degree weather to know if it really holds up, how many nights did you test yours before you wrote that review?

Honestly, the cold air stiffening the valve is a legit point most people miss. But heres something else nobody talks about: how humidity affects the pad when you pack it up wet. I tested mine after a rainy weekend and the internal baffles started delaminating after a few cycles of packing it damp. Nobody reviews that part because they air it out in their living room before putting it away.

Yeah, totally agree with you here. Living room carpet tells you nothing about how a pad works on cold hard ground. I took mine out for a full weekend in 45 degree weather before I posted anything. Found out the R rating was way off after my back got cold through the dirt. Also, the valve got stiff in the cold air which I never would have noticed indoors. People need to put in real field time before they hit publish on those reviews.
