Spent a whole afternoon fighting a tent pole that was 2 inches too short

Guy at the campsite said just flex it more, but I spent a good 45 minutes trying to figure out why my rain fly wouldn't snap on. Turns out I grabbed the wrong pole from the bag, swapped it out, and had it done in 30 seconds. Anyone else mix up tent poles and blame the gear for way too long?

Blame the poles for a solid hour before realizing I had the wrong bag entirely. Mine zip from the opposite side so I was fighting geometry the whole time. The flex it more advice is classic campsite logic, works great until it doesn't and you snap something. Swapping bags fixed it instantly, same as you. At least you caught it before the rain started.

Flex it more advice is how I snapped a pole once trying to get a stubborn sleeve on. Learned to check which bag I grabbed before I start the whole setup now. Glad you swapped it before the sky opened up on you.
