Applied for a supervisor job internally and got ghosted for 3 weeks

Put in for a shift lead position at the warehouse back in February. Heard nothing for 3 weeks so I figured they went with someone else. Then out of nowhere they called me in for an interview with the district manager. Turns out HR just dropped the ball on scheduling. I learned that no news doesn't always mean bad news in corporate hiring. Anyone else had a company go completely silent and then circle back?

Three weeks of silence is just their version of a slow simmer.

Three weeks of silence and then a sudden callback? That would have driven me up a wall. HR really dropped the ball on that one, sounds like a total mess on their end. I had a similar thing happen years ago where I applied for a foreman role and heard nothing for a month, only to get a call on a Friday afternoon asking if I could start Monday. It makes you wonder how many good candidates they lose because of their own bad scheduling. Glad you stuck it out and got the interview though.
