My dad's old IT friend swore by sticky notes for passwords

He told me to write my passwords on yellow sticky notes and stick them under my keyboard. I laughed at him, said that's the worst security advice ever. Then I locked myself out of my bank account three times in one month. Reset password, forgot it again, locked out for 24 hours. Finally tried his method out of desperation. Been smooth sailing for 8 months now with zero lockouts. Anyone else got a 'bad' security tip that actually saved them?

Read somewhere most data breaches come from phishing not sticky notes anyway.

Bet you $20 @charlie_ellis still has a password written on a sticky note hidden under their keyboard though. Phishing scams are slick but nothing beats walking up to someone's desk and just flipping the sticky note over. Honestly both are dumb ways to lose your data but at least sticky notes make me laugh.
