My monitor wobbled for a year until I used a spare yoga mat
My desk is a cheap IKEA tabletop on two filing cabinets, and my monitor shook every time I typed. I tried velcro strips but they didn't grip the laminate surface at all. Has anyone else found a random household item that fixed a desk problem?

The yoga mat trick is smart. I used a folded-up felt furniture pad under my monitor base and it stopped the wobble cold. Those pads are usually meant for chair legs to not scratch floors but they add just enough grip and cushion. You might also try a strip of that rubbery shelf liner, the kind with the grid pattern on it. A six inch square of that under the monitor foot would probably do the same thing as the yoga mat.

Friend of mine had the same issue with his ultrawide. He tried folded cardboard at first. Looked terrible. Then he used a thick strip of sticky-back velcro. The soft fuzzy side down on the desk. The hook side barely stuck to the monitor base. Worked like a charm for like a year until he upgraded his desk.
