I compared aluminum joystick rings to plastic ones on my Xbox controller and the difference was massive

After 3 months the plastic ring wore down into a jagged edge that caught my thumbstick, but the aluminum one from a $12 kit on Amazon still feels smooth as glass, has anyone else dealt with grit buildup from worn plastic?

Those jagged plastic rings are the worst, the grit gets everywhere.

Those plastic rings are a nightmare, honestly. The grit gets stuck in the tiniest little grooves, man. You think you washed it off, then bam, there's a chunk of something in your drink. It's like they were designed to trap every last crumb on the planet. Give me a solid lid or nothing at all, for real.
