Swapped my joystick modules after 4 months and the dead zone just vanished

I put in some cheap Hall effect sticks from Amazon on my old Xbox controller. For weeks I thought the drift was just normal wear and tear, but it kept getting worse in certain games like Apex. Then I checked the calibration and saw the range was totally off on the left module. Has anyone else seen a big difference after swapping just the modules instead of the whole controller?

@davis.mia's got a point honestly. Half the time people blame the sticks when it's just a dirty contact or a cracked solder joint acting up. Replacing modules is like swapping out a tire when the axle's bent, might feel fine for a bit but it's not the real fix.

That sounds like a big coincidence honestly. Most times the issue people blame on the module is actually a loose connection or a bad solder joint on the board underneath. A fresh module might just be making better contact temporarily, not fixing the real problem. Plus those cheap Amazon Hall effect sticks are hit or miss, could be the new ones are just less worn out. I've seen plenty of cases where the dead zone comes back after a couple more months because the real issue was somewhere else in the controller.
