Rant: My bathroom fan was pulling air from the attic, not outside
I was up in the crawlspace yesterday checking a leak and saw the duct from my bathroom fan just ended in the insulation. The contractor who flipped this house must have cut corners. I looked it up and apparently this is super common and can cause mold issues because you're just moving damp air around. Has anyone else had to re-run a vent line through their roof?

Just ends in the insulation? That's wild! I've seen some lazy shortcuts, but that's basically asking for a mold farm up there. You're right, it's way too common on flipped houses. Good catch finding it before it caused real damage.

Yeah, the mold risk taylor_mitchell80 mentioned is bad enough, but I always wonder about the fire hazard. That warm, moist air from a bathroom vent hitting fiberglass insulation can make it hold heat forever. It's basically turning your attic into a slow cooker for your roof framing.
