Figured out a way to clear a clogged intake screen without pulling the whole assembly up on my 12-inch cutter in Muskoka last month
I was fed up with losing an hour each time so I tried hooking a pressure washer wand to a long pole and blasting it from the surface and it cleared the screen in under 5 minutes, has anyone else tried something like that on a deeper rig?

Used to think that wouldn't work on deeper rigs but now I'm a believer.

michaels95 I was the exact same way for years. Tried it on a 10k setup in the Gulf and it held together way better than I expected. Now I'm running it on a couple of the deeper water spots and honestly the difference in downtime has been night and day. The key is making sure your kill lines are properly spaced or you'll get weird pressure spikes that mess with the whole balance. Glad someone else is seeing the light on this stuff lol.

Used to think those kill line setups were overrated for anything past 8k. Swapped over after a buddy let me test his deep water rig and never looked back. The pressure spike thing is real though, had to redo the spacing twice before it ran smooth. Big difference in how long you can stay on site without chasing issues.
