I finally got my corner bead cuts down to a science after seeing so many gaps
For years, I watched guys just hack at the metal bead with snips and leave these tiny gaps at the top and bottom of the corner. It seems small, but after mud and paint, that gap always shows as a little shadow line. I started cutting my bead with a fine-tooth hacksaw on a miter box, and the fit is perfect every time. It adds maybe two minutes per corner, but the finish is so much cleaner. Has anyone else found a better way to get those cuts sharp without a ton of extra work?

That extra minute for a clean cut is the difference between a job and a craft, you see it in everything from woodworking to wiring.

Look at my IKEA bookshelf, man. It's got some ugly cuts in the back where no one sees. Works fine. Sometimes a job just needs to be done, not turned into art. You don't need a craft-level splice on a lamp cord you're hiding behind a couch. That extra minute feels good, but it doesn't always matter.

Totally get what @alex_flores24 is saying about hidden cuts, but that clean habit saved me last week. Had to move my desk and the "ugly" back of my shelf was suddenly visible.
