Why does nobody talk about using a glue gun for corner bead nails?
I used to spend forever trying to get my corner bead nails to hold in metal trims around my area in Cleveland. Last week I saw this older framer zipping them in with a dab of hot glue before his final screw pass. Tried it on a closet job Tuesday and it saved me like 20 minutes of fighting with slipping beads. Has anyone else used hot glue to hold tricky corner bead in place?

Start by realizing that half the tricks in construction are just repurposing stuff from other trades. Hot glue is basically the universal cheap hack for holding things that don't want to stay put. Same reason guys use duct tape for everything or painters tape for temporary holds. Funny how we all eventually figure out the same shortcuts just different materials.

idk if i'd call hot glue a cheap hack exactly... it's actually pretty legit for certain things, especially when you need a strong hold but can't use screws or nails. i mean, it's not really repurposed from other trades either, hot glue guns have been a thing in woodworking and crafts forever. like my grandpa used one back in the 80s for holding trim pieces together before nailing them, so it's more of a trade staple than a shortcut.
