Just realized my phone battery saver mode was making things worse
I was at the airport in Denver last month waiting for a 3 hour layover and my phone was at 35%. I turned on battery saver mode like I always do. But then I noticed my maps app kept freezing and the screen was so dim I couldn't see my boarding pass. Turns out battery saver was killing background processes that apps need to work right. I missed my gate change announcement because the notification was delayed by like 10 minutes. Has anyone else had battery saver cause more problems than it solved?

oh man, you just described my entire relationship with battery saver mode. I swear my phone thinks it's helping by turning into a grayscale potato that can't load a single app. the other day I was trying to look up a recipe while my kids were screaming and the screen dimmed so low I just gave up and guessed the ingredients. ended up with salty brownies, which was a new low. the worst is when you need gps directions and it kills the location services so you're just driving in circles like a confused grandpa. at least you made your flight though, right? I'm convinced battery saver is just a way for phone companies to gaslight us into thinking we're saving juice when really we're just making everything unusable.

Used to think battery saver was some genius feature that would double my battery life, but now I'm pretty sure it's just a scam to make us buy new phones faster. Beth said it perfectly, it turns your phone into a useless brick that can't even show you a recipe or a boarding pass without freaking out. Missed a gate change at the airport myself, that's the kind of thing that makes you want to throw the phone in a trash can. Battery saver is basically just a way to turn your phone into a slow, dim, frustrating mess that makes you wonder why you even bother turning it on.
