Neighbors smart plug post convinced me to finally try one on my porch lights
After three months of watching my neighbors lights switch on at sunset like clockwork while I kept forgetting to flip my switch, I finally caved and bought a $12 Kasa plug and honestly I havent touched that light switch since, what kind of timer setup do you guys use for outdoor stuff?

Had a buddy set his to sunset timer and then forgot daylight saving existed and his lights came on at 4pm for two weeks straight.

Set the schedule through the app instead of relying on the built-in timer, those things drift like crazy. I use a TP-Link plug that stays synced to my phone's timezone automatically, so daylight saving shifts never threw me off. Also put it on a morning trigger too, like 30 minutes before sunrise, so the lights go off at dawn instead of burning all day. Saves a ton on bulbs and keeps the neighbors from thinking you're running a grow op.
