My color palette was a total mess until I saw a sunset in Sedona

I was working on a spring collection and kept adding random bright colors, thinking it looked 'vibrant'. Then I saw a photo from my trip to Sedona last October, and the way the red rocks, blue sky, and orange sunset worked together clicked. I realized I needed a base of three main colors, not seven competing ones. Has anyone else had a moment where a real place fixed your design logic?

Remember staring at a blank wall trying to pick paint colors and just freezing up. Took a walk and saw how the gray sidewalk, green weeds, and that weird yellow from a street sign just WORKED together. It was so ugly but so right. Now I totally get what you and @morgan.adam mean about using real life. My apartment is all weird concrete colors because of that walk.

Bro that's so real. I keep a folder of nature pics on my phone for exactly this, stops me from overcomplicating everything.
