My post driver snapped on a vinyl job in Charlotte yesterday
The handle broke clean off on the 5th post, so I had to finish the run with a sledge and a block. Anyone got a brand they trust for heavy daily use?

Snapped on the fifth post, that's some seriously bad luck. I've had a handle go on me before lunch and it just ruins your whole rhythm. What are you even supposed to do, just stand there holding a broken stick?

Just how bad was the hit when it snapped? I'm wondering if it was a cold day and the metal got brittle or if it was just a weak spot from the start. My buddy had the same thing happen on a job in Asheville and it was because the driver was sitting in the back of the truck with moisture freezing overnight, made the handle like glass. What kind of temps were you working in?

Yeah, that's brutal. I switched to a MaxPower driver after my third handle snap and it's held up for two seasons now. Rivera.simon is right about it killing your rhythm, but at least with a solid tool you're not wasting half a day. The steel on the MaxPower is thicker where the handle meets the head, that's the spot that always goes.
