Spent a whole afternoon chasing a creak that turned out to be a loose bottle cage bolt.

Remember that time I tried to fix a wobbly table by stacking coasters under the leg? It worked for a week until my cat jumped up and sent everything flying. Sometimes the classic fix is the only one you've got.

Just counted my client cards and hit 1,000 exactly

My client list is basically my cat and a confused neighbor.

Finally chose between a $1200 combi oven and a new set of All-Clad pans for my station upgrade

Our old kitchen manager called the combi oven the "silent sous chef" and he was right. It lets you nail the carryover cooking on a rack of lamb while you're three other things deep on the line. That 30% isn't just speed, it's mental space to actually think about the dish. What temp and humidity are you running for your proteins?

Serious question, what's your take on the push for more electric vehicle training?

Wow, that's actually a smart move by the school! Timing belts are on the way out with so many new engines, but EVs are the future. That new hire is going to be way more valuable knowing high voltage systems inside and out. We need techs who can handle this new tech right now, not just the old stuff.

Went to a hardware store in Austin and saw a new kind of air conditioner

Yeah, that's the wild part, seeing them just sitting there next to the old gas models. I got one put in last year and my summer electric bill was way lower, but you gotta think about where it goes. It blows out cold, dry air, so sticking it in a hot garage or stuffy basement is perfect, but you wouldn't want that cold draft in your living space. The install was the tricky bit, needing a drain line and more space around it than a regular tank.
