Vent: I lost a whole batch of kimchi to a faulty airlock lid
The seal was bad and let in oxygen, turning $12 worth of cabbage and spices into a slimy mess. Anyone have a brand of airlock they actually trust for long ferments?

Stick with the classic S-type airlocks, they never fail.

Totally agree with you. I've had three-piece ones pop apart on me during a big ferment. The S-types are just simpler and way more reliable for the long haul.

You know what that reminds me of? I had a batch of wine going once and my cat knocked over the whole carboy because the airlock wasn't seated right. S-types are way harder to mess up.
