Why does nobody talk about the glue fumes in small bathrooms?

I was doing a condo in Seattle and the owner's kid asked if the carpet 'smelled like new shoes'. It hit me how used to that chemical smell we get. What do you guys do for air flow in those tiny, windowless powder rooms?

Honestly, she told me to just cut the potatoes and put them in one layer, no shaking needed. I did exactly that with some russets last Tuesday. They were soft and pale after 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Tbh, I gave it a second go and shook the basket halfway through, and they got way crispier. Has anyone else found you really need to move stuff around in there?

A trick with a zip tie saved me an hour on a 6.7 Powerstroke oil cooler job

Was doing the cooler on a 2015 F-250 in the shop, and the lower bolt on the housing was a nightmare to get a socket on. Instead of pulling the fan, I took a long zip tie, looped it around the bolt head, and used it to pull the bolt out just enough to get my fingers on it. Got it out in maybe two minutes instead of fighting with extensions and swivels. Anyone got a better trick for those tight spots behind the radiator?

Just had a 1911 sear spring snap during a final function check

I was putting the finishing touches on a custom build for a local competition shooter, a real nice piece with a lot of hand fitting. Had it all together, went to do the final safety checks, and when I pulled the trigger to test the half-cock notch, nothing. Took the grip panel off and found the middle leg of the sear spring had snapped clean off right at the bend. This was a brand new Wilson Combat spring, not some old part. Happened yesterday afternoon and it totally threw off my schedule. I had to dig through my parts bin for a replacement, but it got me thinking about spring quality control lately. Has anyone else run into new, name-brand springs failing like this recently, or did I just get a bad one in the pack?
