Tried glue-down LVP vs floating click-lock on a big commercial job, not even close which was better
Did a 2,000 sq ft retail space in Austin last month. Client wanted floating click-lock because they thought it'd be faster. I pushed for glue-down. We ended up doing half the floor with each to compare. The click-lock took 3 extra days because of all the subfloor prep to get it flat enough. Glue-down was way more forgiving on the concrete. Plus 2 planks already popped loose in the click-lock section from the register cart traffic. Glue-down section is solid. Anyone else run into this with commercial vs residential installs?

Oh great, so I could've just glued it down and saved myself three days of shimming concrete?

That "three days of shimming concrete" line is exactly the kind of overthinking trap we all fall into... we get so focused on doing something the "right" way that we miss the simple fix sitting right in front of us. It's like when you spend hours trying to fix a squeaky door hinge when a little WD-40 would've solved it in ten seconds. Most problems in life have a glue-it-down version hiding somewhere, we just gotta stop and look for it before diving into the hard way.
