My neighbor showed me a trick with leftover veggie scraps that blew my mind
I was chatting with my neighbor Sarah last weekend while we were both out in our yards. She saw me tossing carrot peels and onion skins into the trash and stopped me right there. She showed me how she throws all that stuff into a big freezer bag instead. Once the bag is full, she boils the scraps with some salt and bay leaves to make her own veggie broth. I tried it myself on Monday with a bag I had been saving for a week. The broth came out way tastier than the store bought kind and it cost me basically nothing. Has anyone else tried making broth from scraps like this? What combinations work best for you?

Oh man, my friend Jen tried this after seeing a TikTok and said her kitchen smelled like a fancy restaurant for hours! She swears by adding a parmesan rind to the pot for extra richness.

Fancy restaurant smell for hours" is exactly what I need, @hill.jade. But does the parmesan rind actually make a big difference or is it more of a subtle thing? I've got one sitting in my fridge, trying to decide if it's worth the hype.
