Shoutout to the guy at the Philly flame-off who told me to ditch my old graphite paddle
I used to fight with a warped, sticky paddle for every marble, but after switching to a proper carbon one, my transfers are clean every time. Anyone have a favorite tool that seemed minor but totally changed your process?

Honestly, I've never bought the hype around fancy gear. My old wooden paddle has a chip in it and I still pull clean marbles. It's all in your hand speed and the angle, not the tool. People blame their tools instead of practicing the basics. A new paddle just puts a band-aid on bad form. What's wrong with using something until it's truly worn out?

Yeah, I read a thing once that stuck with me. It said a tool shouldn't be something you have to fight against. If your paddle is warped, you're spending focus on fixing its mistake instead of your own technique. A good tool gets out of the way. It lets you feel what you're actually doing wrong so you can fix it for real.
