Switched from a cheap graphite paddle to a proper brass one for shaping and the difference is night and day.

Yeah I feel you, it's easy to blame it on the rush but that doesn't explain why the good stuff still hits years later.

Used to think it was just the rush too honestly. But after a couple years of tracking what actually makes me feel good versus what feels like a waste, it's pretty clear the money does matter. I've bought cheap stuff that excited me for a day then sat in a drawer. Then I dropped real cash on a good pair of boots and I still reach for them every week. The anticipation of spending is real but the lasting satisfaction just isnt the same with cheap things.
