Vent: The gas station in Redmond that keeps changing its layout

I stop at the same gas station on my way to work, the one on 148th Street. For three years, the drink coolers were on the left when you walked in. Last Tuesday, they were on the right. I figured they moved them overnight, no big deal. But the next day, they were back on the left. I asked the clerk, a guy named Dave, if they were remodeling. He looked at me like I was nuts and said, 'They've been on the left for as long as I've worked here, man.' I know what I saw. It's not just the coolers either; the chip aisle felt longer one morning, then normal the next. Has anyone else had a spot that seems to shift around when you're not looking?

My old apartment in Bellingham had a light switch by the bathroom door that controlled the kitchen outlet. I lived there two years and swore that was how it worked. One day it just... didn't. My roommate said it never had. I used to think people who noticed stuff like that were just forgetful, but that light switch thing messed me up. Your gas station story is the same kind of deal. Some places just have a weird vibe where the details don't stick.

Yeah that's the exact feeling. spencerm52 gets it, some spots just glitch out.

Gotta push back a little here, @spencerm52. I've lived in old buildings my whole life and that kind of stuff happens because wiring gets janky over time, not because reality is bending. My last place had a switch in the hall that would sometimes turn on the bathroom fan and sometimes the living room light, and my landlord said it was just a bad connection. Gas stations and apartments are old and cheaply built, so wires get crossed or grounds fail. I think the simpler explanation is usually just bad electrical work, not the universe glitching. Not saying you're wrong about your memory, just that the building might be messing with you more than your brain lol.
